Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Safety for employees who remain

Suppose to go back on Monday, wondering for the remainder of us that are in the buildings, if our trusted leaders have taken any precautions for our safety against this virus?

😂😂😂 that’s funny right there. The virus is real just like the flu. Period end of the story. They shut the country down for nothing but the seasonal flu. They don’t even have a test for it that works. They have given them samples from fruit and it comes back positive. It’s just a big joke and the media outlets bent the country over with their propaganda.

As far as Covid they stopped cleaning our offices after the first week where it all ramped up and they started phase 2.

Don't forget to hold the hand rail as you navigate the stairs. Management does not want any adults risking this on their own. I suggest using some hand sanitizer when you reach your destination to reduce risks, but not before, as your hands could be slippery and you might fall down.

They have masks, gloves and sanitizer in multiple locations. Predominantly at the parking garages. They are taking the necessary precautions. I understand there’s a ton of negativity, easy to say for someone who was not impacted. My time could be up anytime. They are doing what they can at the moment.

For the time being, if you want to re-enter the buildings at NBC it requires that you take additional training and sign a waiver, in addition to having to wear a mask at all times. That's just to enter the building - no word at all yet on whether folks will be returning after 5/15 for sure or not. Not sure its really any different than the teams that regularly use PPE and have to follow safety rules - they've been doing it for years.

Stay home if you're worried about it. Someone who cares more about feeding their family than acting like a little b–ch will be happy to have your job. id–ts like you are the reason for these layoffs.

"Still pretty low odds, but that’s still a one in ten chance of death if infected."

No the mortality rate is somewhat unknown, but say it is 3%. That is a 3 in 100 chance of death if infected. 10% of those deaths are under 65. So that is 3 in 1000 chance of death if infected.

"Still pretty low odds, but that’s still a one in ten chance of death if infected" That is not the way it works that be 1 out of 10 only if everyone that got it died. You would have to get the death rate vs the infected rate then maybe you could say 1 out of 10 of that and that is a big maybe.

“99% of deaths are over 65.”

Made-up numbers, sorry. According to CDC data from today, over 10% of deaths were in the under-65 age group. Still pretty low odds, but that’s still a one in ten chance of death if infected. With the lower concentration of folks in the offices the chances of infection are reduced - until they start closing the Towers and force remaining employees to group together In the empty spaces....

Chances are you'll be OK if not already developed antibody. 99% of the deaths are over 65 with comorbidities. If you're healthy enough to be working, I doubt if you will get anything serious. You cannot stop the virus. Most of us will get it.

There are guidelines, like 6’ spacing, masks required in elevators, etc.
