Well, still no word on whether we’re getting it back and that’s absolutely unacceptable they won’t even give us an answer. I’m officially doing 10% less work now.

My experience has been agency is the first to go in a recession. Has anyone heard of this happening?

If you voluntary don't take the new rate it is as if you quit. My agency sent a letter stating the new rate. Nothing to sign.

Anybody knows if you don't signed your new contract with this 10% cut rate and you are terminated , is this considered layoff for unemployment purposes? or quit?

The 10% is permanent. Ford did the same thing after 9 11. Your company might try to blow sunshine up you a– but the 10% is never coming back.

I would like to hear from Ford whether or not this is permanent. TekSystems indicated it is not, but my co-worker's notification from Epitec indicates it is. Some transparency from Ford is in order lest unscrupulous agencies pocket the difference should rates be restored.

I agree with the last comment. I think working 32 hrs/week was OK with me.

I have my pride, I negotiated my rate. I disagree with this 10% permanent cut when we will be back full time. I did not negotiated this new rate with my contract house.

Like all of you, my option are temporarily limited. If you can collect unemployment, go for it.

We don't like these sneaky move from some administrative office that think they can pass one on us, for the sake of the company...but permanent.

This is insidious.
" A discount agency employee when things will get back to normal. " ..they probably argue to sell their ideas.

They couldn't do it to their salariy crowd because they were afraid of the reaction and the public press.

I had high respect for Ford before this last move. Not so much now, unless they reverse this decision ASAP.

And I am sure they will freeze change of rate request for a year or two obviously.

Swallow leave.

32hr/week+10% salary cut for agency ONLY.

Don’t worry, I promise to do the minimum amount of work possible, while still collecting 72% of my previous income.

Also, as soon as things open, I will apply to other jobs.

The prior two rate cuts were permanent This one will be also.
Do not understand why the salaried wages are not cut as well, especially the higher paid salaried. GSR7 and above should have cut. The 401K match should be eliminated.
Mary Barra is more decisive and a better leader than Hackett.

Just got the lowdown from my pimp. 10% cut, said to be temporary, but if people stick around, clearly we've said we agree that that's what we arte worth, so why would they roll it back? The only thing that will induce them to reinstate prior rates is a mass exodus of agency folks.

I think this reduction is all agency (certainly all MSX) ,but maybe not purchased services (I'm prtetty sure our Red Hat consultants aren't going to be getting a new contract – I can't see IBM rolling over for that, but if you're just a coder who got slipped in because an EM had an open purchase order, who knows?)

Hours reductions for agency (but not purchased "resources, confirmed that) are being rolled back, though. 36 hours as of next week, back to 40 in June.

This 10% cut and for some 32 hrs/week is bad management. They should have cut the employees salary as well.

I think Ford is cutting it’s own throat. When things open up, you will see the good Designer’s leave Ford with a bunch of d—beats that do nothing!

@1ltm You hit the nail on the head. Why should we have any loyalty to the company we work for when they have none toward us.

I'll give my employer 100% as long as I get paid. The employee/employer relationship has also changed. It used to be a give and take relationship. I have noticed in my past few jobs that it has become a take and take and take on the employer's part.

Company is going to make some heavy cuts soon. Ford cannot survive for another year at the rate we're going. 10% cut when the above average pay is the only reason why any contractors stick with Ford...

Totally agree with the last post. Keep your skills up to date and resume ready all the time, sign up for job alerts at search engines... jump off of the ‘stinking’ ship before it sinks! or off loads you to buy a few more breaths to keep it floating. Peace !

@1ieb+14OpGfUg This is what the younger generation keeps trying to tell the older generation. Times have changed, billionaires don't care about you. No one sits in the same job at the same company for 30+ years anymore and companies won't blink about cutting you. Take care of yourself first and keep the company loyalty to a minimum because they certainly have no loyalty to you.

Companies no longer put any value into their employees, whether they are contractors or hires. We are all cattle to be culled from the herd as soon as there is any indication that profits will be impacted. We are ALL expendable in that race for the almighty dollar and keeping the shareholders happy.

I was culled by Ford during the Great SRD of 2019. I had to relocate and am fortunately still employed (knock on wood) during all this.

Is this in addition to the 80% work week? Or going back to 100% with rate reduction?

Also, isn’t it up to the agency to determine if they’re going to absorb the 10% wage reduction or not?
