This was a layoff due to market conditions.

You’re eligible for unemployment on top of severance as long as they pay it out in one lump Doethink you still have to let unemployment know about it though. Each state has its own rules. Uncontested means they won’t try to say you quit or got fired for cause etc. This was a layoff due to market conditions.

Wrong, I didn't get unemployment for 2 months because of the lump sum. Now if you don't report it, you lose your unemployment altogether for not reporting your severance package. I didn't know I was going to litteraly not get unemployment because of the 8 week lump sum pay. Halliburton won't tell you this, only unemployment.
