My name is Bryan Pietsch and I'm a reporter at Business Insider. I'm looking to speak with employees who were laid off from U-Haul. You can contact me at bpietsch@businessinsider.com and I can avoid publishing your name or other identifying details. Reach out with any questions!

I was let go for being "tardy", I worked for Uhaul from home for over a year and a half. If my attendance was an issue, I doubt I last a year and a half. I appealed my UI benefit, but haven't heard a word and it's been almost 4 months now.
My dad was laid off
Bryan Pietsch is no longer with Business Insider, he's now writing for the NYTimes apparently. I guess that U-Haul has slowed with their lay offs. That's good.
Brian,
Obviously UH's social media and public relations are trying to say UH did not lay off people. Which is in a strange way true since they gave no severance. We were let go instead of laid off. I think this is a disgusting way to treat long time employees.
the moral has really gone down hill with the remaining employees
uhaul is not paying its employees holiday pay when they work, did anyone receive holiday pay for memorial day
I too was "let go" and not laid off or furloughed.
I was told to improve my talk time so that I could get a promotion, the next month I was told I was fired on April 1st because of my talk time! 5 weeks waiting on unemployment so far and nothing. These are liars and the worst company to have been working for when the pandemic hit.
Not only did they fire us, but they also lied about why. The said I broke policy all of a sudden, They then went out of their way to make sure I was denied unemployment with that lie. Broke my heart and my bank, I was a loyal employee with rave reviews,
