The best dispatchers came from the ranks and not the street. At least they know how to treat the employees and they know what it takes to get the job done. Like a previous post, there are no rocket scientist in the bunker.

Maybe they need to find people that can speak clearly and are personable and not jerks that hate their lives and wake up mad, and come to work even more p-ss-d off and treat train crews like id–ts.
I have never seen a company that is this stupid when it comes to filling positions like this.
They put anti social mo–ns in positions where they have to talk to people for 8 hours at a time, unbelievable.
When one hears a good one on the radio or see their initials on the paperwork, its a godsend, because you know that at least part of your day is going to be good.
Keep JKB and promote her and
MSK to Cooridor Managers.
Coming from an ex dispatcher, dispatching is like riding a bike, once you do it for a few years it would be easy to come back and do it again. Believe me there are no rocket scientists in the bunker.
Just to clarify, UP does NOT split the HDC by sending some folks to the WATC. They did published a plan to do so and then backed out of it along with purging their email stating the plan. They also require you tell them when you travel outside of your "work area" until October. However, its acceptable for them to bring in people in from all over the network to dispatch in the HDC while the HDC has a no visitor restriction? They decided against splitting the work force on a 24/7/365 shared desk operation and decided against having temperature stations put in place yet its okay to bring in outsiders? Sounds like b—s— to me.
Awesome!
They are being pulled from their current jobs all over the network. They have a few days to refresh and must take GCOR over and over until they pass. UP can care less about anyone's safety. I wouldn't want to be on a train dispatched by someone who hasn't done it for 5 years....let alone 20.
