Calhoun & Co. (specifically the BOD & the Execs) can now do whatever they want.No government strings attached, no oversight, no nothin'. First order of the day: cut costs. Layoffs. Continue building their personal nest eggs, since they can. Oh yes, now they can..... they got what THEY wanted.
My prediction is Calhoun will Golden Parachute outta there w/in 2 years or less.He more or less finagled a golden deal for the immediate Board members & himself; future generations will be left to pick up the pieces.Like a good Chicago gangster should. Anyone who doesn't see that these boys knew what they were doing from the get-go hasn't studied history.
Jack Welch.Jim McNerney got away scot free....same with RayRay. McAlister happily GTFO, real quicklike.Even ol' deer-in-the-headlights Dennis came away relatively unscathed.Who cares about reputation or conscience or integrity when you're 62+million richer (he apparently didn't renounce his company's egregious behavior and/or his own role in it, he regaled us with tales of his upbringing but when the chips were down he took the $$ & sulked off into the sunset) , so we can all see what really matters..... the Big Boys getting THEIR big $$. See how that works?

The rest of us are all cannon fodder. When we figure that out, & get a REAL UNION, we might not need to worry about trivial c-ap like layoffs or whatever. The Union supports the Co., plain & simple.

The next few months will be real interesting.

Why does Boeong layoffs only 15%? They just can cut whatever number they want now - 30,40% of BCA workforce because they don't take govt fund.

I think it depends on the job code.

I would totally agree with OP. In some skills codes in BCA this would likely be the case and no level 1 and 2 are not safe if vlo doesn't clear some of the senior employees.

Did you hear what you just said....?
The 1st wave. What comes after the 1st wave? Second, third waves perhaps? 2015-2016 to start with.... then how far back? I’m guessing the OP is closer than you think.

I would think it would be wise to lay off the dead wood first. A person hired a year ago doing a great job should be kept but a person hired 20 years ago that is a slacker should be laid off. Enough of entitlement.

Fool another lie, they are actually only going back to around 2015-2016 on first wave. Get your info correct.

Lol I know for a fact that is not the case for salaried employees. Most of the new hires levels 1 and 2 are safe.
