Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Supply Chain Layoffs

Any word on how bad supply chain folks were hit. Rumor is the structure would go down to one PM&L manager for NAL.

We were hit hard. For some reason they chose to let go bunch of low pay bottom of the chain employees instead of some of the higher paid that may not have much work to do as of right now.

Supply chain is just as bad as any other group, no one is safe. Went to pick up my stuff in the J building at NB, didn’t see any boxes but cuts are happening.

Just got canned. They eliminated 50% of my group as well as my manager and his manager. Can confirm seeing boxes on every floor in plaza 1 and 2 when I went to preemptively get my stuff a few days ago just in case. Good luck to all those still getting pulled along. My time in helliburton is over now.

And so is manufacturing management and support departments... I can think of at least 10 people that do not add any value to manufacturing in Carrollton!

Correct not immune, I said it would be insignificant and it is. Losing 5-10 people total I s insignificant. Not saying it doesn’t s— for those laid off. But it’s not like they are letting 50% of each department go. Also those layoffs were in technology not manufacturing. Technology is headcount heavy as is.

Hate to burst your bubble but HCT started laying off people last week at the end of April. Several full time design engineers and contractors were let go on Wednesday and Thursday. You are correct that the HCT order book and projections for the remainder of 2020 remain solid, but it doesn’t mean we are immune from layoffs.

Outside of manufacturing what news on the logistics and procurement folks? Closed down facilities would mean those field supply chains are gone what of the areas that were reduced but not closed?

You clearly can’t read. I said we are currently receiving demand for items that will ship in Q3-Q4 2020. Currently Q1 2021 forecasts which are based on actual discussions with field sales show virtually no dip for Q1 2021. Therefore in a couple months we will be receiving those actual orders. HCT isn’t heavily involved in fracking which is what’s being impacted drastically. Most of HCTs customers are not NAL.

So in a month or two HCT will start to feel the impact of oil collapse? Since the orders are 6 month forecast future??

HCTs orderbook looks ahead about 6months. So right now we are receiving orders for demand for 4th quarter. It has barely slowed down. Forecasts for Q1 2021 show a slight uptick. Hence why the person below says little to no impact on what’s going on right now.

You can’t really think that HCT would not be impacted.. it’s still part of this oil mess and will be impacted.. order books might be ok now but let’s talk in about 2-3 months when no orders are coming in....

Because HCT manufacturing hasn’t been impacted in any significant way by what’s happened in the market and likely won’t be. The orderbook for HCT is virtually the same as it was 6months ago. Maybe 5-10% down. So if there even where to be any impact at all which I doubt it would be insignificant.

If everywhere else is getting cut, why would we not see cuts in Carrollton and Singapore??

There are no plans for reductions in Carrollton or Singapore. Quit spreading lies.
