Anxiety is a human trait shared by many in times like these nothing wrong with that. Keep your head up things get better
Reading through the post I feel the anxiety in the air. I have to say I am this is why I check this thread.
Yes there by bringing comradery back into the work place and everyine being a true team and not trying to cause dissention in the work place would greatly boost morale and profits along with it. Will see what happens though.
Amen to both of you, yes inept and out and out bad management has been a plague at Cummins for years and as you said decades. The top boys and girls need to clean out their management ever so often or truly sift through and investigate which ones are pulling their weight and also are able to do their job. So many of them got those positions but don't know how to do the job (family, friend, relative etc. etc.). At least Erwin Miller came around off shift and anytime he wanted to talk to the regular workers to find out any problems. That was his way of getting the non polished truth to what issues may be going on or hidden.
And by doing that it keeps the managers on their toes and having to truly watch what they are doing.
Amen to that, they've thrived unchecked for many years some for decades passing off their work load to everyone else. Statistically fresh turnover of management has reflected positivEly on the financial side of things, highlighting since that's all cummins cares about Is the bottom line. This is do to people becoming set in their ways, its of course not true for all but for many they become jaded and cynical and simply don't want to carry their weight anymore. It is forsure time weve seen some positive change and cummins make good on their claims that they care for employees. actions not words cummins come on.
I think it’s time for some of these useless mangers to get the boot.
To be determined.
Cummins is scared of laying people off so since they put their money before their employees, and their employees are seeing that. Plus the unemployment money is good enough employees may not want to return. will half to wait and see. Anyway it plays out wont be pretty.
WHEN IS THE NEXT RIF?
Very true its unfortunate management gave me false expectations made me think I'd be laid off Tuesday. Left with discouragement now, ready to move on way to many toxic people. all the things cummins said about taking care of their own and fostering teamwork and looking out for the guy to your left and right, when I was hired has turned out to be quite a fairytale. Majority of employees at my location desperately seeks ways to stab each other in the back. And foster discord deviciveness among everyone for their own amusement.
A RIF's coming, there is no doubt. With what happened and how many months they went without orders and having to spend even when they truly didn't want to. No, we are going to get a RIF. The remember they did layoff hourly in depts and such, and they may RIF more along with salary. I wouldn't be shocked if CMI keeps one of their plants and the people who are layed off layed off till next year to save money and also wait out this year.
They know even with the put time that if they bring people back they will be burning money without knowing if their customers will be there or reduce orders or decide to scale back and cancel orders including orders from systems in SEP. So it will most likely be pursuant to customers starting like nothing has happened and cranking out orders for us to supply. Something tells me that isn't going to happen.
Great advice thank you. Any idea why manager keeps giving excuses instead of being straight? He told us hed have an answer by Tuesday now he's acting like nothings going on.
HR rank and file and even director level is being kept in the dark regarding CLT RIF plans at this time. My HR connection tells me that the CLT themselves have no idea what the next quarter may entail. Were I an employee of CMI. I would certainly keep my options for other employment open. Use your network, work your contacts.....always keep in mind that CMI will RIF you if it is in there best interest. They have no loyalty to you....you owe them none in return.
