We went through this in 2015 at ConocoPhillips. Management promised the dividend was safe, then cut it six weeks later. Once you lose credibility with employees and stockholders bad things start happening. Don’t make promises you can’t keep. We’ve still not recovered.
Dividend cut - its finally happened. Its only sensible.
