None of this surprises me. Seen this coming for some time even before the pandemic. Get out or be forced out.

It's now much worse than just furloughs as of today. They are starting a round of layoffs as of 6-29-2020 and if you have been with them for any length of time, you are a target because of your pay scale. The focus is now to shed the higher paid field technicians. They are also combining Production and commercial into one conglomerate and reducing the territorial managers and putting commercial repairs on the production techs. It sounds like they are on the way to eliminating the USA Division altogether. The hype of the company is almost laughable. Love your neighbor, and love your work is nothing but a catch phrase, because when it comes down to dollars versus their so called culture, the dollar bill is always the focus. When they did the last round of buyouts, their level of service went to almost zero for over two years. All of the investment they made in training was never even a consideration, and they ended up with new and inexperienced technicians who knew absolutely nothing about fixing the machines. As with any business, loyalty means nothing when dollars are threatened.

Furlough is better than a layoff. With unemployment and Fed money most are whole if not better off. Timed are tough for many companies, Ricoh included. We all could have been laid off. That would be quick and easy. Also your Manager got 3 weeks furlough. Not 7. Not sure what they will see. Time to buck up. Tough times for millions.

our calls are so low we barely have one call per day. I am happy to do a furlough instead of being layoff permanently.

It makes you wonder... does Ricoh find it truly necessary to enact seven weeks of furloughs or are they just dumping their payroll on the backs of the taxpayers because they can?

Waiting for official notice from RICOH about the additional 5+ more weeks of Furlough but the rumors are TRUE. Our manager has already scheduled 7 weeks furlough for our whole team including himself. Welcome to the new RICOH.

Groundless rumors. Focus on doing your job right the first time will help you more than spending time on this website.

Same here 5 weeks by July 31. Many front line workers are getting bonuses. We get out income cut in half.

When they first announced furloughs, they said management would forfeit a certain percentage of their salaries. Will they also lose more or just the frontline workers who have been risking illness and death? Perhaps the ones who don't have to leave their homes should lose a little more than those that do.
