Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

DMC

Has anyone made heads or tails of the letters they are giving everyone? Are there certain confirmation numbers that mean layoff and certain ones that mean still employed?

Is there anyone left besides the cleaning people at DMC?

Another round of layoffs by Halliburton at its Duncan, Oklahoma operations was announced this week. At least 240 manufacturing workers lost their jobs effective April 29.

“This is a mass Layoff and the facility will remain open,” stated Halliburton spokeswoman Danyelle Huff in a WARN notice made with the Oklahoma Office of Workforce Development.

You may want to revise your thoughts, 9:30 call did not lead to layoff. Maybe they decided to reverse the normal order this time.

If done the 'traditional' way of physically walking you out the door, then it's always been done by getting the ones to be laid off first and then gathering up whoever is left later on to tell them all that it's over.
However, doing it via phone calls this time, they may or may not do it in the same order. Chances are they will but there's really no reason to have an 'order' to it.
It is what it is and it will be the same old stuff that DMC is known for; the buddy system. Lots of good people let go because they make too much money or they aren't buddies with the boss who doesn't know anything about what they do anyway.
It will interesting to see how many PGL's and managers get to keep their jobs while laying off the people that do the actual work.

Every time is bad. You only get called when ur position is eliminated. The only difference is the later I the day you go - the more chance of option to transfer locations, take a demotion with pay reduction or be let go. Any call you get is worse than you were the day before.

7:30 to 9:30 layed off
10:00 to 11:30 maybe
12:00 to 2:00 safe
That’s for day shift only
Good luck

That’s been answered before noon is probably not good. After that is safe. For sure

Well what's considered "late" and what's considered "early"?

Anybody considered that the early call are the safe ones. Much easier and quicker. Takes longer to take care of ones being cut. Either way it pretty much s—s as a lot of good people will be gone and the sick and worthless will be the ones that stay
