After listening to all the rhetoric from the "Hatchet" Man (CB) and Mr. Pumpice (ME) they first said no field employees would be affected. Now were hearing that all the pumpers in the field will be terminated and replaced with contract pumpers and they will also increase their workload. Wow, I bet the contract pumpers will really take care of the locations! Good luck to all of you!

54 years in the PB gives me a lot of hindsight. I’ve see companies lay off all their pumpers several times. Even majors. But it’s not quiet what you think. What I’ve seen happen, is that they lay everybody off, then offer those same people back the same jobs, but as a contractor. It can result in both the company and the pumper making more money. The down side is loss of long term benefits.
No they're not getting rid of all pumpers but they sure as heck will before they trim any executive pay or positions. They place little to no value on the field personnel
They are not getting rid of all pumpers. Who comes up with this stuff? Yes they are trimming the fat so to speak. What competent company isn’t right now? This is not just a downturn. It’s a perfect storm of events that makes our product almost worthless in the short term. That’s never happened before. My advice- do your job. Better then anyone else in your office. You should be fine.
All contract pumpers I know have been released weeks back
I know of at least fifty
