I couldn’t agree more, my friend. I’m wishing for a lay off, but if they don’t do it then I guess I’ll phone it in for a while. If they do layoffs, I really hope they ask for volunteers. I would really hate to see someone else who desperately needs their job get cut instead of me.
I’m L-Oxy and anyone who is trashing APC needs to chill. We are all pawns in this game. They had a good company before Oxy came along and trashed it. If I were them, I’d be trying to get the COC too. We had a good company too. Now, there will be one, or even possibly two, fewer O&G companies to work for. They will write books about what a disaster this acquisition was. It will be a case study in B-schools.

If APC is junk, then WHY did Oxy buy us for $57 Billion?! Ha ha, knuckleheads. I wanted to be given the VSP and retire, but that didn't happen. Oh well, while I was upset at first, I don't care anymore, I have layoff protection for 2.3 more years. So now I'm just happy to ride this thing out through the worst of times, watching the management chickens with their heads cut off run around with no aim or direction. Lay me off, and I'll happily retire. Don't lay me off, and I'll continue doing my day job on my own terms until I retire in a year or two. Win win for me.
