I don't know that "National Disaster" or "Act of God" would allow them to cut severance or violate the WARN Act–since they called people back to work—the layoffs will be the result of cuts in rate due to demand—I would think this would apply more towards something like a war, or a weather event (tornado, hurricane) that would damage or destroy facilities and cause a mass layoff–am not an HR expert–just some thoughts—

Fear p–n!!!

Boeing, and most other companies, provide some sort of severance. In aviation, its typically 1 week for every year worked.

Non-union VLO is typically IDENTICAL to an ILO severance.

This is just more people trying to stir the pot.

So they could spin this into “National Emergency “

If you do not take the VLO make sure you read the employee handbook, no benefits in an ILO (no severance) if 'act of GOD, National Disaster or National Emergency). It states a layoff event is not an ILO if;

  1. ...
  2. ...
  3. ...

You basically have one week to determine if you will leave if forced out in the RIF without any severance or benefits.

Red Bell, but no invite. Just some medical update form. Weird it would happen same day and that they would use the Red Bell. No link to VLO.

Bca, salaried nonunion, 24 years. Got the invitation. Curious if company will publicize how wide the net was cast. 90%, 25%...

I got the "invite" along w/ several others in BDS of various ages and levels. They are casting a wide net.

I'm in BDS and I got one. And I am not the only one. Non-union, so might just wait for the ILO. There is no "extra" incentive for the VLO.

Just registered on the worklife website. My management says I'm not in danger of layoff. They cant promise anything. Take the money while you have a chance.

It’s just an alert if you qualify (probably sent to 90% of the company)... you still need to apply for it
