It’s true. Some of us even got vacation taken away lol! No but seriously they took our vacation...
You are not wrong. LOxy here. I work in one of the shiny growth areas.
Our future success lies in these area and therefore they cannot afford the flight risk.
I guess I am lucky to be working at the right place at the right time.
karma troll is his wife’s cuck!
Couldn’t have said it better! Cut our hours if you are going to hose us on 70% pay!
Oxy employees got it much worse than anyone in the industry. 1) we were carrying much more risk 2) we had to subsidize the LAPC protections. They only got 4.9% so LOXY employees had to pick up the slack so it went from 15-25% to 30%. To make matters worse Oxy cut all of its worker bee contractors so, unliked most companies who's cuts came with reduced hours, Oxy is actually adding more work with the salary cuts. Win/Win. Oh wait, we are 'lucky' to have a job. Sounds like my wife's friend in an abusive relationship who keeps saying she's lucky cuz 'at least he still supports me and my kids'
this industry is unpredictable - boom and bust. now it's just bust
Ouch. I understand the current situation and still having a job is a blessing to some extent but this kind of deep cut would make me determined to leave. Unless they make it up in the next year (like that's going to happen). To put it in perspective, another company I used to work for is doing furloughs and even if they force 4 weeks of unpaid time off, that's only equivalent to a 10% cut. And you get time off.
Yep I'm feeling all that LOVE that VH supposedly has for her employees.
I'm in a technical role and was cut 20 percent. Went from 62 to 49. At this rate I made more money when I was in IT at my last job than what I make now
I would hope they tiered it based on salary. A person making 150K can live with the 30% cut a lot better than someone making 60K and being cut to 42K. I am on the technical side and everyone I talked to in our group or discipline was cut at 30%, and my manager said he was as well. The Anadarko people were cut at 4.9% from what I heard and most likely more come August. I also heard this will probably go through the remaining of the year.

Any idea what perfect on legacy oxy was exempt from cuts? And when you say management does that include the useless middle managers?
