With successful aquisitions such as Kmart, Sears, Sears Hometown, what struggling retailer should Eddie buy next and turn into a success? JC Penney? Macys? Maybe even resurrect dead brands such as Mervyn's, Circuit City, or even Montgomery Wards?

Pier one. Some of the Kmart executives went there and surprise surprise were let go after making things worse. They should try Eddie now for the final death knell.
Vandelay Industries
He can resurrect Jefferson Cleaners, with George, Weezy and Lionel gone, think it's time, Eddie moving on up!
Lampert assuming the wheel at JCP...now that could be fun.
The only proper way to interpret the OP's post is that the intent of the post was sarcasm or trolling.
Eddie Lampert and successful are two completely opposite concepts.
Who else in the history of retail has invested so much money into a company....only for it to go from being profitable to near extinction in only a decade....
If the definition of successful is destroying a company, then Eddie is a success.
Bed Bath & Beyond would be a good fit for Eddie.
No concern of yours. Try getting a life.
