To add to the original post. It's not that the layoffs were unseen. People have been predicting them here for over a year and they will finally be right.
The issue is not the layoffs, it's the lack of transparency. The CEO promised to be upfront and transparent. But we hear the cuts from the news media and unnamed sources. Its chicken sh–. Come out and say it. It's not good news, I get it. But own it, be actually transparent, don't just say it. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but his actions gave home away (or inactions) the last actual communication he provided to us was "there are not layoffs planned at this time" while not untrue, very misleading.

Boeing will reduce Carolina 787 program 1st as 3000 plus non union represented workers will or should be reduced before Everett Wa but Boeing will make a business case to retain Carolina workers . Boeing would like to have all the product made in a right to work state as they could pick a choose the good worker and out with the bad worker.
Been stuck on the tanker for 3 yrs. Was on the 787 prior to that for 9 yrs. Thought the grass was greener on the other side. I personally would rather keep the 787 in Everett since we “fixed” all the bs at the EMC. Just my opinion...
I’d rather turn Carolina into a finishing center but that’s just me...and many others...opinion.
Out of our hands...probably will end up on the chopping block so to speak. But...there’s alotta really good MT’s at the EMC despite anyone who’s NEVER worked there. It’s rework...not bar work.
Anyway...despite being burnt out on rework, I’d love to keep the 787 here. Greedy yes....but we have the talent.
Save your dumb–s comments non Boeing employees. Nobody cares what you have to say. Eat a bag of sh....
Long live QotS!
it’s the end of the line for 787 Everett’ so Chicago executive that got his papers says!
Here’s my take and trying not be a alarmist id–t. But reading between the lines. Not that article necessarily. Boeing brought workers back for all work on planes but 787 on Tuesday. Meanwhile I’ve been hearing news stories talking about South Carolina being the plant that does the work on the 787 that is selling. The fact 787 came a few days later tells me something bad may happen to the 787 line here. No facts just gut feelings
Wow really! Job cuts, they are going to stop all operations on the 787 in Everett very soon, any fool could see this’ Italy shut down no parts, can’t build the -10, it’s over! 787 guys go packing!
