Word is that McKinsey has been hired to come in and find cost saving measures including deciding on layoffs and who that would effect in October and beyond.

I strongly agree, unfortunately that’s the way it is .
Pilots are just one piece of the puzzle for layoffs. The overall organization doesnt have such a strict guideline around layoffs
I thought the pilots union agreement means layoffs go purely by seniority, they cant pick who to lay off.
Expect employees in certain jobs to be replaced permanently with automation; COVID response is perfect opportunity for that and technology already exists. Lay-offs will be in the tens of thousands.
