What’s sad, the people that have worked countless hours in the past few months trying to get everything completed (not only their own job done but training others that have no clue how to work the fields they are in) JC and his buddies are still taking all the compensation for a “Job well done” that they possibly can. Just look at the totals for competition for the people on the BoD, if they were to take 1/2 as much, no one would have had to lose their jobs like what just happened. Oh, and for those that are/were saying that the people in the field new this was coming.... less then 2 weeks ago, it was broadcast though out the company that there were not going to be any cuts to the field personnel.

I have been in the oilfield for nearly 40 years and have seen many ups and downs. One thing is certain, it always turns around and comes back. All the good people that were released today will land on their feet and be better for it. Apache will continue to suffer and lose credibility with the workers. They have become a company that nobody respects or wants to work for. They are a sinking ship! JC and his butt buddies in the ivory tower are on borrowed time. Best of luck to everyone that was laid off today! You will look back on this day as a blessing!!

I'll be 60 years old next month.
No Job and no prospect for a job for at least five years.
No way to sell the house and move because there will be hundreds on the market next week.
Two months of insurance and then I am on my own.
Wife still working but for how long is anybody's guess.

I suppose I am now retired with five good years in me at least that nobody wants.

I refused to let my boys go into the oil patch because this was always a possibility, even when Apache was $130 a share. They and their families will be fine which is a blessing for any parent.

It sure was a good run from the late 80's though.

Mechanics and fluid techs are now pumpers, in addition to their regular job. My guess is nobody will answer alarms and wells will be offline longer. This is going to be a disaster. I'm certain there will be higher cost for well repairs and spills on the other side of this all.

I heard North Permian got a total of almost 90 people. A few foremans and techs. A whole lot of pumpers. I feel like I am on borrowed time myself. It seems like no one is safe at this moment. Keep everyone in your thoughts and stay safe!

It doesn’t look like it this round. Just field offices. Some good hands. Some not so good too.
