Being a trusted company by our customer is what's keeping up afloat.

Although we do need to use customer data to enhance our products and make decisions. we have to very careful with losing customer trust.

Does Hackett have an original thought in his enormous dome? Data harvesting has been around for years to the point where there is a consumer backlash starting. To spend massive sums of capital on developing it for vehicles is ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that they’ll have to figure out how to monetize it if they want to actually make money. Silicon Valley companies struggle with that concept but our auto company is going to figure it out? Leadership is so far out of touch with what is actually happening in the market it is revolting to me.

Gill probably had someone troll us with this post. We will learn alot about customers by tracking, analyzing, and taking action on employee data. Can you recite "Our Truths" to the letter ? In the new culture you are just a data point to exploit.

For a data guy, his graph showing when it would be safe for people to come back to work, or whatever that graph was supposed to show, was very confusing.

@1gaw+14CKGVa8 If you think it is just about car radio you haven’t been paying attention in the Huddles and town halls. Hackett and Farley have been drooling over collecting and selling customer data obtained from vehicles and the mobile devices they are paired with. In one town hall there was an audience question about privacy, ethics and legality of collecting and selling customer data. The response was lobbying for legislation changes and creating such fabulous apps that customers would opt in for Ford to collect and sell customer data. Hackett was expounding about how Ford collecting location and other data on customers was no big deal as people who live in small towns already have no privacy as everyone knows what everyone does and where everyone goes anyway.
The problem Ford has is that the mobile devices already are universally accepted and can and do have 80% of the capabilities Ford would like to bake into vehicle apps. Most people do not want a 50K+ rolling computer. The remaining 20% are difficult to accomplish the self driving realm.

They had to bring in a foreigner? Couldn’t hire a US citizen? Just watch, he will bring in more.

It seems like an odd choice for him. To go from a job trying to figure out what threat to eliminate to figuring out how people use their cars radio seems like a big shift. I'm glad I don't have a 4g modem car. I think we are cheating the customer with it. I ever buy a new one that module is getting unplugged. Just like how I took care of auto start/stop ;)
