If you're going to regurtitate information atleast do it correctly. Its PAID TIME OFF using PTO/Vacation time. Its so they get unused hours off the balance sheet. A furlough is when you don't take pay.
By your logic there is a yearly furlough during the holiday shutdown between christmas and new years.
Yes, they are requiring all employees take August 10-14th off.
