I was under the impression that people were being furloughed, but I see many are mentioning severance, which implies layoffs. Can anybody please clarify which one is it?

Our whole team of 12 were just let go....even asking questions about other positions we were told there are many teams being let go, last day is next week.
@Sal is that the first bloodletting for ESD? Before I left last July it seemed most of ES was relatively untouched.
Many people across Enterprise Software Division have been layoff as of May 1st
I suspect it’s division dependent... even if you’re not impacted now. Plenty of time later in year for cuts

Everyone in my group is being laid off or kept. I'm one of the few that's being moved to another job entirely.
