Vicki taking an 81% salary cut?

Lets’ do the real math on her TOTAL compensation cut based on the WSJ article publishing her total 2018 compensation, as shown below:

‘Ms. Hollub earned compensation valued at $14.1 million in 2018, according to the company’s most recent annual proxy statement. The bulk of it was paid in stock. Her base salary was $1.25 million and her bonus amounted to $2.81 million.’

Lets' also assume she is making a lot more in total compensation than in 2018 (probably got a huge bump with APC acquisition).

$1.25MM x 19% = $ 237.5K. $14,1MM - $ 237.5K = $13.8625MM. 1- ($13.8625MM / $ 14.1MM) = 0.016844.

WOWWWWW, her total pay cut is a whopping 1.7% (based on 2018 numbers) !!!!
What a gal, talking about leading by example !!! She and the EC are really sacrificing. How embarrassing, and to think we can’t figure this out !!! I need a stiff drink…

@Not a 19% cut, obviously you have very limited knowledge, and do not understand the difference between a stock grant and stock options. Looking at insider transactions, she pretty much receives stock grants, which are free to her. And, guess what, the BoD can grant her any quantity of stock they want, so the current stock price becomes somewhat immaterial. Now, a stock grant is given to keep an executive, so that in itself is pretty scary...

Don't bring a knife to a gunfight ….

@Not a 19%
So you realize by getting more shares at a lower price, it means her average cost per share will go down. And when she gets $10M in $12 shares; it will greatly drop that average cost per share. So she is still banking on a rebound; but it doesnt have to be at oxy all time highs for her to cash out.

May be unfair but VH has put the hex on future female CEO’s in O&G sector.

@MrMath

Ur maths skillz needs some work.

I don’t feel sorry for or defend Ms Hollub, but her stock options are likely now worthless and any stock grants are worth a fraction of what they had been.

She should accept that she was a failure and step out. Just that.

Yes on salary cuts for VH & EC

To be fair they should forfeit all stock grant awards for themselves and take only options grants with strike price of at least $40 per share. They need something to work for!

@GlueStick954, it's not about whether she earned it, its about whether she wants to share the same pain she is inflicting on her employees. Evidently not, and by the way, she has a lot more disposable income than people making 100 times less than her. One could argue she and the EC should take a +50% pay cut on their TOTAL compensation, but as previously stated, she is not a LEADER, nor are they.

Stop drinking the 'Kool-aid'.
