Thread regarding JetBlue Airways Corp. layoffs

How will this affect us?

Yes, we will get the bailout money but we will most likely have to cancel all domestic flights very soon, so I am no longer sure just how helpful any kind of bailout will be in that situation.

Any ideas on what is going to happen from now on regarding layoffs? I am thinking it will not be as bad as some have feared, but it will still happen.

Similar to @tlk below I also mostly agree. We'll be looking (in my estimate) at a 30 to 40 percent cancelled count.

Business will continue to travel. Some family trips are necessity.

It will take many months before we fully recover.

Good luck all - we'll certainly need it.

Mostly agree. I don't think all flights will be cancelled but a large amount will be. I think one way to possibly predict what's going to happen in our industry is to ask friends, family, colleagues, experts if they or their company will use air travel to go on personal vacations or business trips immediately after getting the 'all clear' signal from medical experts and government leaders. I'm not sure what the appetite for traveling by air will be in upcoming days. I'm guessing air travel is not a necessity.
