To all these "veteran employees" who complain on here about that's not how the company should be run and get their panties in a bunch so easily: QUIT. You seriously sit there with a straight face and say you worked for decades without a Plan B? No other job skills that would apply anywhere else? Not even other grocery chains? You only have your own apathy to blame.
Or just keep working at a job you hate and know is bad for another 20 years and b–ch and moan on the internet. Not going to be an easy retirement for some of you I'll bet. Just sad.

I heard that they are now backtracking on the 10% bonus? Is that true?
If only the posters praising the current hy-vee moves would be placed in the demotion category of so many long term, dedicated employees. Many of the demoted directors had recently been praised for great jobs. Now they are suffering due to the amazingly poor missteps of current top leadership.
How did RE get elected Chairman and how does the board continue to give in to the multitude of extremely expensive blunders of this person?
I will encourage friends and family to avoid doing business with this heartless (Towards employees) company. What would the founders say? Nothing good!!!
Please! Enough is enough my a–. We are just supposed to just let this go? Be swept under the rug? Randy and his yes men just took our livelihoods! I still work there. Just for 2/3 of the pay. None of my skills have changed. Post your name you coward. Man you are full of it.
Everyone - please stop. Enough is enough. We are dealing with a national crisis and you don’t even care. If you do, put on a nametag like the rest of us and get to work at a store to help the greater good.
Be a hater all you want but I've noticed something. When a statement is sent out to the press about an issue that makes HyVee look good Randy Edeker's name is all over it! If it has been news that puts HyVee in a bad light...I'm sure you have seen enough lately...it was sent out by a spokesperson....who of which Randy is hiding behind. I believe that, for closure and in order to move on, Randy and his yes people need to stand up and own what they have done! It's time we take this world back! No one is willing to take the blame. HyVee is employee owned, which really doesn't mean anything, it just sounds good. I'm sure that there have been many employees through the years that would have loved to have given some insight and direction to the "decision makers". It was just one failed attempt after another. I sure hope this new ship burning, Smile 2020 direction you are on gets you somewhere. I wish you luck.
Store director, see it wasn’t me that posted this originally. I just got my first paycheck since my salary was cut by more than 20k. That was fun! More than twenty years in and now I make less than I did ten years ago! Why? Position was eliminated. Not my skills. Not my smile. Not my attitude! Not my work ethic. Don’t tell us that we are the problem. The real problem is that none of you stockholders will stand up to Randy. Shame on you. Nothing but a yes man profiting on your employees work. I hope that you are proud. Give us your name and I’ll give you mine!

Good luck to you. I was genuinely blown away by the announcement and how he's trying to save face after the layoffs and changes.
Absolutely nauseating; this public announcement of bonuses for employees. It’s the same old ‘look at us, we are so wonderful, we are saving the world’ c-appola.. employee compensation is between the company and the employee. The use of this pandemic for public relations by so many corporations is so sickening. We all know the cashiers are working hard and taking risks because they are good people and need their jobs. The world doesn’t need these “aren’t we wonderful” marketing ploys by the corporations.
Back to the original poster. Yes , I am a store director, what you miss is ,not that long ago many of us were in that 30-60k range you are talking about . I have 3 family members in that range right now. You post “ taking good from our families mouths”?? But when you find out you are getting a 10% bonus on 4 weeks of wages and immediately put a post out here complaining about it?! With a title that I’m sure you thought was just hilarious . After reading your original post , and then your reply , I stand by my original contention that it is the small minority of people with your attitude that is wrong with Hy-. And it’s those attitudes that are “ taking good from families mouths”
All you bitter retirees should just go away. You've made your money and got out. Good for you. You're so smart? Why arent you the CEO? Pretty easy to puff your chest and say "well I wouldn't do it that way" Such a sham. And you're probably all these "old school" people I hear about all the time who treated their employees like garbage and ran their managers into the ground. If they don't tell us then this Company is all a sham and we are really not employee owned like we claim to be.
The way all this played out was all wrong. Did it have to happen because of all the missteps yes but not in this way. Did Randy take a 20% pay cut including his stock options?

We are Employee owned so we are all owners and we should be told if and to what extent Randy's pay was cut. Its our Company and we want to know!!!
The problem is not all stores are on the split.
The ones that are not on the split cause there not breaking even still will not be able to bonus . They will have to prove that they can sustain that sales increase cause if they dont they will come off the split. Or so this is my understanding
At some point the madness will quiet down and all will come back to normal.
As far as the record week goes...you’re getting a bonus for that. Ever heard of a quarterly bonus? That’s where it’ll be....this is in addition to. You’re right, you didn’t put much thought into your post.
They also could have done nothing. Dragging your company through the dirt at every opportunity is one way to boost morale. Speaking of boosting morale, imagine what your store bonus would be if everyone had a positive attitude and interactions with customers. I’m not a director.
So much wrong with this decision. Goes to the point that his boys just do whatever he says, no logical input here. First off the week before his "bonus" starts we blew all our sales records out of the water! So we get no benefit from that. Second no one knows what this bonus even means and no one can explain it. Third if this works like other bonuses mine will be higher than the cashiers and baggers who bore the brunt of this. Lastly, what if we get sick this week because we were here the last two weeks helping customer s that infected us? I wouldn't get credit for the last two or three weeks of this. It only took me a few hours to come up with this stuff, surely he could have thought this out better.
of course it is sad that it takes a national health crisis for the workers to be recognized and compensated. too bad everyone will be screwed durinf the inevitable econonic downturn.

all he is doing is following the likes of walmart heb and kroger finally providing a bonus to frontline workrs in time of crisis. must have a problem with people showing up.
Put your money where your mouth is, sign yours over when you get it . People like you are “what happened “ to Hy-Vee . You probably are one of the “ It never used to be this way people” speculating so hard on what you think the “problem” is that you totally lost sight that the problem is attitudes like yours. If you don’t want a 10% bonus , quit .
