Thread regarding Alaska Airlines layoffs

Layoffs have already started

I can't believe there are people who are naive enough to think even for a second that this leadership will do everything it can to avoid layoffs. Are you kidding me with that??? Or do you think people who are not part of plane crews don't matter??? Who cares about the rest, right??? Shame on anybody who minimizes what is being done by Alaska Airlines right now!

Completely agree. Cutting salary is an attempt to keep as many employed as possible. While painful for all, it certainly beats no job / paycheck at all.

Doing what is necessary. The revenue impact can't be understated right now. We are seeing unprecedented losses. Cutting schedules 70%. Bleeding $400m/mo. Cutting wages was done to avoid furloughs. What would you do? Nothing? Go insolvent and then bankrupt? Are you so naive to think the leaders of this company aren't doing everything necessary to stay afloat and protect the interest of the company AND the employees? These things go hand in hand. Really.
