Apache Upper Management is Spineless-Remaining Employees Should Prepare Exit Strategy ASAP

For Apache to terminate employees while they are quarantined at home is unbelievable. We are experiencing a mass pandemic and they have the audacity to layoff workers especially when they claim to have money to survive! Those at the top of the organization are spineless and only care about themselves. How do you even lay your head down at night to sleep when you do this to the employees and their families?

Upper Management just recently communicated how much money they have and "will survive the storm" and how much they care about the workers and families. Then they terminate 100's of employees? Really? They should use some of that money they claim to have to save workers. There are numerous other alternatives then cutting workers, including furloughs, reduction of pay, sabbaticals, etc. This will have long term ramifications on the morale of the company and they will never recover. They act like they care about the workers and their families during the pandemic and then cut with a c-appy severance with 2 months insurance. Next, your insurance runs out and your in trouble.

For those employees left, I would not forget what this company has done to their employees. More than likely they are coming for you next. Do not believe anything they say, you will be used like a tool until the ship sinks or they are sold. Hopefully, they have something left for you when it does. I would highly recommend you begin preparing an exit strategy as soon as possible. There are plenty of companies that will value you as an employee and will protect you during times of crisis.

As a contractor for Apache, it shames me that we are the New York Knicks of the oil industry. Let that sink in.

The other companies that you value you as an employee are also laying off their employees.

They cannot cut our pay unless we agree. I will file a lawsuit if they try and cut my pay.

It gets even more twisted: M@dd0x and his buddies on Project Descend have promotions lined up for several of their favorites starting April 1. And they're still hiring new people in their already bloated groups. Our people are our greatest asset and we can "weather the storm" but Apache has to cut hundreds more employees in order to survive??? Which is it??? Firing people by phone during a global crisis was an all-time low, btw, even for this company. D— move.

i concur. the presentation by IR was very misleading. that quote is quoted exactly -"will survive the storm" . But perhaps when your in IR your trying to spin message. Maybe a presentation by someone in Treasury or Account/Finance might shed better light. Good thing the IR message was not conveyed to the street.

I can also confirm the message from someone else on another topic here. CEO did state that paycuts would start with him. I re-watched its on the project "descend" site.
