I see hyvee is now hiring temporary, part time employees. Maybe if they hadn’t “eliminated “ so many experienced, full time employees they wouldn’t have to be hiring right now. Oh wait— they don’t have to spend money on insurance this way. Real classy hyvee. Although I should probably be thankful that I was laid off when I was because at my age, being only a few years away from retirement after a 35 year “career “ with hyvee, it would not be good to end up with the coronavirus.

Our son-in-law was a dept manager with 33 years in. He worked 9 or more hours on the floor, never in the office. He worked hard and moved his family several times for Hy-Vee only to be treated like
c-ap. Hy-Vee can spin their story anyway they want to, but some of us know the truth.
Excuse me! I was NOT a manager working in an office, I was a department manager working on the floor nine hours a day! Yes WORKING! And I got laid off after I gave hyvee 35 years of my life just so they could save money. I do not appreciate your implication that those who were laid off did nothing anyway.
How many managers does one store need sorting in the office 80% of the time? Cutting the fat was wise. Leave the WORK for those of us who actually do...WORK
It's probably a wise decision to forego retail and remain on unemployment at the moment, regardless of risk level.
