In another big F-U to the core value stating "it's people are their greatest asset", One of Apache's largest cuts were taken by the operational safety team. A manager and field supervisor with over 40 combined years of service were unceremoniously released by phone. In addition, 2 additional safety team members received that same call. These were all rescinded job offers that were accepted less than 2 weeks earlier. But guess what guys "Apache will not compromise on safety".

That is a fact. 4 safety team members were dumped to retain a space for some high-level manager or VP. It amazes me that they continue laying off the workers but have released very few managers or VP's. With this move, they showed the employees how they truly feel about safety and the culture they are instilling in the company. BP had the same attitude and safety culture and that's what led to the Deep Water Horizon tragedy. Why would we expect less than this with all the former BP leaders we have.
So...actually a manager and 2 safety supervisors were cut. One of which will be sorely missed. He was by far the most dedicated and honest employee Apache has ever know. We both started pumping for Apache together back in 2007. Wish you the best man and I know you will succeed in whatever you do!
I think everyone who heard about this was blown away. MB and team are world class professionals. I sincerely hope they find work fast as they'll make an immediate impact wherever they go and make someone a "good hand".
Thank you for keeping all of us safe. You'll be truly missed.
