How's that high priced petroleum engineering degree from OU working out for you? Hope you saved some money from the glory days. No more cool kids (production engineers club) playing super heroes. Way to go...

It is possible we all picked the wrong industry, wrong degrees or the wrong time to be born. Look at the price of every oil companies stock price and the looming disruption being laid on the oil industry in this coming decade and blaming Devon alone is foolish.
Time to look in the mirror and ask yourself "what's next boss".

Devon Energy WAS debt-free in 1998. And wasn’t on the NYSE.

I think you are correct. Devon will likely be debt free in less than four years because there won't be a Devon Energy in four years. Stock has gone from $ 42 in early 2018 before the smart people decided to downsize. Now we have seen $ 4.70 a share and less than $20 a share before the Coronavirus hit America. Devon management intelligence and smart people is an oxymoron. Best of luck though on that optimism. We'll see how that works out for you.
