Thread regarding Emerson Electric Co. layoffs

My experience with emerson

I just left the company (bought by Emerson in 2017) I joint 12 years ago.
I have been very lucky in finding a new - better paid and with bigger responsibilities - job quickly and I am very happy to leave emerson.
What I have seen in the last months makes me vomiting.
They do not care about your skills, expertize, experience and they are not interested in what you have done and which results you have delivered to the Company in the last years.
They are just interested in reducing costs and cutting jobs in what they call "high cost countries" like Europe and USA (their interpretation of "high cost" is based just on hourly cost and not on productivity).
They have started "disassembling" the company I have worked for - a company with 65 years of history and with a world wide known brand and recognised as a top player in its business for quality, reliability and engineering skills - moving core functions like engineering and supply chain to India and Romania.
They have no respect for the company they bought, just squeezing and reduce cost with no long term vision.
If you are more than 40 years old and earn more than 80k Euro your destiny in emerson is already decided, unless you have the "right" connection and "protection" inside emerson organization.
I have never seen a so unmeritocratic company like this
They create financial value for their top managers and maybe for stakeholders (maybe) but the destroy social value

Yep... better not be over 40. Age is the first factor when considering who has to go.
