Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Plant closures

On a more serious note, if hourly employees are forced to go home for a certain amount of days for this covid 19 fear. Will g.e do the right thing and pay them for 3 weeks?

It is literally SARS-CoV-2. Don't be a cool. Unfortunately the hourly workers in Greenville have the most to lose from this. Any word on the test results from those suspected cases we were told about yet?

@1vkz+142ilnnw You misspelled "Commie". This is the result of people allowing themselves and many others to become weak and expecting a government or business to be strong enough to lift all of their loads. It's what the Unions keep shoving down our throats and tell us to support. Playing cards is physically excruciating to many now and a simple common cold has become too much for them to deal with as well. People keep preaching Darwinism until it's their turn to lose by those rules, then they want somebody to have sympathy for them and give handouts. People are starting to realize how unimportant they and what they do, really are and it's scaring them unlike anything else.

The primary reason other than virus problem is BH stock price. Oil price is crashing so also the value of GE stake in that company.

1 year ago GE stock was worth 10.20
1 month ago it was worth 12.75
1 week ago it was worth 7.42
1 minute ago it was worth 6.04
Unless GE receives a bailout, we are in serious trouble. What is left to be sold off and what creditability does GE have to justify being loaned/given more money? We're easy pickings for the competition to either snatch up or snuff out.

The question isn’t whether or not they’ll get paid, it’s whether or not there will be a GE to come back to.

Lets get real, nobody is being 'forced" to go home. Everybody is already complaining about coming in and can't understand why they have to be here in the first place. Once announcements of layoffs start happening, watch how quickly their tune changes. All you'll hear is crying about how important they are, they have to be here, and that GE won't last without them. You're either essential or you're not. It doesn't switch to accommodate you. What's laughable is how eager people are willing to prove that GE can do without them for just 3 weeks of pay. Hope they can stretch a dollar really far!!
