Thread regarding Apache Corp. layoffs

Someting tells me my severence pay might never come.

With APA stock at 4 bucks. It seems as if belly up is the only way to go. What an amazing fiasco. I am thinking of filing a lawsuit before I get the shaft…again! In my separation agreement did I agree to not filing a lawsuit by signing, or upon payment of severance? Will someone please help me remember the terms? My only copy of the agreement is in a safe 4 HR. away from me…I just want what’s mine before one more move from the stupid CEO.
And yes, I called that fat cat stupid! After 7 years, I have never seen such door knob running a company. Did completions team in Midland have Bob Koons? Why didn’t they put him in leadership instead? I thought completions was making money for the company.

I just got a call from HR and my termination date was moved from 5/1 to today, but I still get my severance. I hope they mail the check today so it will clear.

@bma, if you have documentation that you had communicated with them your condition and worry and the company neglected to investigate,
or if you have a chronic condition that you can prove it was caused by fiber glass then you have a case and you should go for it, although it seems like APA is going to sh– at this point, but worth the try nonetheless. By the way, sorry to be the bad news bearer but fiberglass is known to cause respiratory diseases and cancer. I would look into that and get a medical and legal evaluation.

Got mine a little over 3 weeks after signing the documents and sending them in. Haven’t got the signed document back.

I think the CFO is incompetent at every level. Yes, the CEO has the final say, but this CFO and his key VP’s don’t know what they are doing either.

In Midland we had a fiberglass insulation leak and I have had bad headaches because of that. I want to know if I can sue the company for that.

Don't worry:

  1. You signed a contract. First syllable 'con', which translates to together in Latin. Apache can put in as much language as they want into the contract. They are liable for their stated obligations as much as you are. A breach on either side would allow for a lawsuit to take place with a good chance of success.
  1. In the event that your severance is paid out and neither party breaches the contract, you can still sue for something not explicitly stated in the binding document. Read carefully

Yes completions was making money for the company and they got hit hard just like all of us. We built this company. To this day I have been offered nothing, and I am working my a** of from home with no support I miss my girls! You make a good point. I think I am just going to jump ship at this point and I want to live life on my terms. Sorry I can not answer your question. It is 2 am and I hate this company. We had a good run but our CEO has not done a good job.
