EC paycuts.....that must be the temporary changes referred to by Vicki. Because the layoffs are definitely permanent!
So they started layoffs again today? By email? How did you find out about the completions folks? What about EOR?

This makes it easy to lay people off if they are not in the office. Get a call from your manager and read a scripted paper and it is done. Lot less mess around the office without a lot of police officers. Might not be nice over the next 14 days.

Anybody know what the stock ticker for CoC lawyers is? I'd like to buy some of that stock because I feel like we're about to have big layoff announcements and those guys will be in high demand... and legacy APC folks have the fortune of the protective CoC. Curious to see what the split is between legacy Oxy and legacy APC people laid off breaks down when all the dust settles.
Seriously though, any good CoC lawyer recommendations? Asking for a friend.
OXY should not rush to dump people. EC can take pay cuts themselves in place of cutting some people.

It makes me think everything is on the table to cut cost and save the company. Commonsense tells you with rigs laying down and being released that not as many people are needed, plus the billion dollar plus budget cut. It is happening to all oil companies and not just Oxy. Pioneer just cut their budget by nearly 50%. If you are running 20 rigs, and cut it to 10 that kind of says it all. You just need less people to run a smaller budget and smaller company. Nothing will surprise me in this environment. In the industry if you ever think your job is secure you made a huge mistake. Two weeks ago we were getting bonuses, and this week we are working from home with oil below 30.00 and stock below 12.00.
