Effective today Planet fitness locations in NJ were laying off all their hourly associates. They would be paid for the remainder of the week. Managers are instructing the associates to apply for unemployment - offering no other solutions in regards to compensation. The reasoning? Members monthly membership fees are being waived for the month and therefore there is no payroll to support the staff for any length of time beyond the week.
