A blank stare from a Tampa coach? Sounds like any normal day let alone a pandemic. There’s that control factor rearing it’s ugly head. Tampa is run off fear and control. Always has always will be.
Had this discuss with my coach here in Tampa today 3/17/2020: "When, not if, when one of us is diagnosed by competent medical personnel that Corona virus is suspected and we are to quarantine at home waiting for test results to come back what is the company's policy??" All I got was a.blank stare and "I'll reach out to HR on that and let you know. All I can do now is speculate what they will say and it will probably be business as usual with short term disability and what not."
Call the Union and got the same thing....talking with HR, trying figure it out, we will keep you informed.
Rest assured if FTR is considering letting call center employees work from home it’s so that they can scheme and come up with a way not to pay you. Don’t fall for it! Especially if the Union is involved.
HR is on your side..... right.... that’s why they are firing as many people as they can right now for the most petty of perceived offenses.
Guidance is supposed to be coming out this afternoon. Work from home if you can, if you can't be safe and practice good hygiene. Also HR is on your side on this one.
They will wait till the zombie apocalypse before giving up control of you. Mgmt101 in telecom is all about control and fear for the inside workers. This is the playbook they have been using since the GTE days and they won’t stop using it just because of some virus. We have seen how awful they treat employees when Hurricanes are about to strike so this won’t be any different.
