Thread regarding Dean Foods Co. layoffs

DFA goes for the buy

I guess everybody got that list of what plants are going to be shut down and which ones are not. Which one's got bought and which ones did not get bought not too sure which one of the unions and which ones are not. Prior to working at Dean Foods was in the oil field where I was laid off in a similar situation. Yeah company came and bought the company I worked for. But the new company decided to lay us off right after Transition was complete. you can reapply with lower pay. Or will go hire somebody else.
I fear this is what's going to happen to a fellow deanfood brothers and sisters that work for the company. Those that haven't been. Cut already with this transition. The number ofplants That didn't get bought. That are currently looking for a buyer. . Sheet of paper. I got said we got three to six months before details will be released about as far as pay and benefits and so forth. . Very similar message. I was told keep working and do the best you can I heard the same speech when I was in the oil field. But me and seven thousand people all relate off. With a pathetic. A package at the end of it. I hope this doesnt happen here but who knows

Sorry for the rant. What do you guys think is DFA going to give us better than what Dean Foods gave this? Are you shocked that? This happened? How's this possible wasn't there a conflict of interest prior to this entire court deal.
????
So many questions but it looks like the ship is sinking.

In addition to needing court and DOJ approval, DFA can still be outbid. Don't see anyone else stepping up and making a bid for all 40+ plants that are part of the DFA agreement, but some plants could get other higher bids.

It is not a done deal yet. The bankruptcy court has to approve the deal then the deal will have to be approved by the DOJ. I think getting approval from the Department of Justice will be the big hurdle DFA and Dean Foods will have to jump. There is a history of these two companies working against the farmers’ best interests. A group of farmers opted out of a $50 million dollar settlement to pursue a separate ongoing lawsuit against DFA for violating the Sherman Antitrust Act. The feds more than likely are looking closely into all these allegations, so it will be months before the sale will either be approved or denied by the feds.
