No severance?????

They notified our team at night and told us not to come in. Our stuff would be mailed to us with our last paycheck. No severance.

What do you mean no severance? Is that even legal???????

In order to get a small Severance you have to sign an agreement indicating you won't Sue. And they allow up to three pay periods before they will generate that for you well past the revocation timeline

If they move you to Optum sometimes it means just so they don’t have to pay severance. We were under UHC then they moved us to Optum too in 2018. It sounds like they are setting you up for no severance unfortunately

The UHG severance policy (not including O360) starts at 3 weeks and maxes at 26 weeks depending on years of service and grade level. Yes, they have the right to change it at any time and there are eligibility conditions such as you didn't give notice nor were offered another position with similar pay. But I would be surprised to hear that someone was let go with zero severance. If it was your manager that told you, I would double-check with HR.

I'm guessing this is either a misunderstanding or false. Severance is clearly documented on the Hub. Everyone I know (which is getting to be a lot) got full severance plus a week of their unused PTO. I was affected in the 2/6 round. Today is my last day of work. Big day for me. Sad/scared/little bit hopeful.

I voluntarily left and found a new position recently. During my search that I started during the November layoffs, I checked the Hub to figure out the severance I would get in the event I was laid off. Under Optum, I would have gotten absolutely nothing. Smh. So glad I found something else before my position was eliminated.

No severance was offered to many after several years of FT employment. Human capitals team mates services stated it was policy. The corporation "handbook" means nothing–they can change it willy nilly at their whim. The employer owns us. It's disgusting

Sorry this happened to you. I would double check with HR to make sure or check the company’s handbook. This is occurring a lot. I wondered why just let people got all at once instead of here and there. I guess so they don’t have to notified the news outlets. I heard to has to be a certain number of employees b4 they have to notify the news outlets. Good luck to you. Hope you get your severance.

They'll mail it to you. Severance is in the company handbook, unless they changed that. You can call your manager or HR Direct to verify. Sorry this happened. I was laid off too (wave 2 or 3). Good luck!
