Thread regarding Fossil Inc. layoffs

If not today, then tomorrow must be the day!

Come on people. If you are at this website, then you must know information. Show some empathy and provide information to your fellow colleagues. So they aren't walking blind into work tomorrow without knowing what to expect.

The NDAs are a joke. One of the chosen ones that signed one told multiple people about how he couldn't talk because he signed one but divulged enough information to break it. Pretty shocking after the mess he's been in this past year. I guess it doesn't matter though, because in a year this place wont exist.

I am just as saddened by the layoffs but some of these comments are ridiculous. Yes this has been worked on for months but no company talks about the upcoming lay-off or warns people. There are legal reasons, paperwork, confidentially and NDA’s people sign. I know it’s frustrating and anxiety ridden but some of us need to grow up on “why didn’t kosta tell us or why is Fossil hiding it?”

People have been warning everyone on this forum for months. You’re now just believing it because it’s happening.

For those impacted, you are the lucky ones. You’re getting a severance and you now get to leave the sinking ship. It will be okay.

No one has been productive for the past week. Fossil should have done layoffs in an effective and respectful manner. Not letting rumors churn for weeks. Kosta used to announce these things because there actually was transparency at this company. I know we are all hoping that we make it through this round of layoffs....but don’t we all know that Fossil will soon be gone. No one buys watches anymore! And the poor leadership doesn’t know what to do and how to change. LOL

NDAs are a good sign...implies packages, but already signing them....was everyone let go under 40? Over 40 have 21 days for consideration to comply with Age Discrimination in Employment Act, plus 7 days after signing to reconsider. If this lay-off will be as large as rumored, should there have been a WARN notice?

There is no way anyone is going to be productive tomorrow or wednesday. I have deadlines but am pushing them aside because, honestly, it may not matter.

The layoffs did start today. People in store ops, stores, and our warehouse were impacted. Layoffs will continue through Thursday and once it is done they will unveil the new massive re-org.

Signing NDAs? No wonder Fossil is going downhill fast. No transparency. No communication. No leadership. This entire process has been a cluster. Changes need to be from the CEO to senior leadership...they are the ones not keeping up with the times. People that are let go should see this as a blessing in disguise.

People with any “real” information had to sign NDAs and won’t be commenting.
The layoffs did start today, but only a few people were impacted so far.
