DFA doesn't have cows in Hawaii. That's why they don't want it. And with Berkeley most likely closing they will have to round up raw milk supply. Also with Greeley getting announced it's closing yesterday, the list is one shorter.

These are processing plants. How will you know if your depot is on the list?

Plants in Hawaii equals plants that are expensive to travel to and far removed from all other locations. Causes costs to go up after every exec in the company plans a meeting there and the "meeting" ends up only being a quick tour of the plant and a week of expenses.

Milk is sent to Hawaii from California.

I'm surprised they didn't take the Hawaii plants as milk there is expensive due to the monopoly they have since milk can't be imported from the mainland.

My plant was not included... my guess is DFA took the most populated cities, and left the rural ones to fend for themselves. I can't fault them it makes sense. Also in looking at the 2 other big milk companies that I know of, they pulled out of the cities that were already occupied by them, Borden and Prairie Farms. I don't know how PF is doing financially, however it sets the door for a merger for the southeast markets. Here's hoping!

It seems like the disgruntled employee troll employee was right about Hayward this whole time.

What a fishy scheme. So many plants acquired in the same states. Would have made more sense to consolidate more of these plants. Just my opinion. Looks like DFA about to run a major monopoly on the milk market.
