I have a yearly mtg with my medical director next week. Should I ask them about layoffs? Will they even be honest or will it risk me on the chopping block by bringingup layoffs? This has been a planned meeting for a long time so I do not think it is about RIF.

US employees are being laid off every month. You probably won’t make it. The jobs are going to the Philippines, Ireland and India.
At Optum in Dec they cut a bunch of medical directors... so doubt they will know
They’ve cut Medical Directors too and those that are left are struggling to keep up!
I asked my manager in my evaluation about layoffs. If you feel comfortable doing so then ask. I don’t think it would put you at risk to be laid off, but I doubt they’ll be honest, so really what’s the point in asking. Lol
