Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Announced Service Electric Purchase by Altice USA

Considering this, doesn't look like Altice is going anywhere from the tri-state anytime soon.

It's also probably going to go through imho, the footprint in question is tiny, 30k customers. This should be an easy approval...It also only includes one sub-system of Service Electric, and there are three.

Here's the parent company's site (there are other sites for the two other Service Electric Systems in the NJ/PA area).

Their footprint is alot larger, that's their current customers cause their rates are so high most do without.

It will all be fiber soon. Anything less would be uncivilized.

Cablevision was rumored to aquire the Sparta section of Service Electric 12 years ago, I remember our manager at the time talking about it. But it never happened. I wish them luck with the rebuild, SE's taps and equipment are ancient and there's most likely still RG59 drops out in parts of the sticks of that system and definatly in a lot of homes. A lot of those drops probably aren't even tagged since I doubt SE ever had a full system audit done
