Cost of living raise

When do we get notified about our annual raise due to cost of living (inflation)? Is it like 3 to 5% like other places?

Gone are the days of an HR department that actually does their job such as analyzing cost of living adjustments or simple employee performance reviews. HR at the tower is an embarrassment, lead by a complete idi*t.

Remember you are just a number to them so just keep plugging away and take advantage of the company as they do you.

The problem is HR or lack there of. This company only has an HR department to lay people off. In my case our HR department leader at the Tower does absolutely nothing regarding performance reviews or anything related to cost of living issues. All this guy is worried about is himself, he was put there because of daddy President that has turned Rig into junk. This dudd does nothing but worry about his lunch outings with his BFF (little weird). He looks down to Millennials or anyone that challenges his peanut brain. He protects his own and handles them like puppets. Don't expect any raises with these guys....does not happen unless you're in that clic of imbeciles.

NOV doesn't even do merit raises. In my time here I've only received one raise, and it was in a desperate bid by my manager to keep me from abandoning them. The number would have been decent, if regular performance feedback and raises actually happened. Divided over my years of service prior to that, it didn't even come close to a cost of living increase.
If you're new to this company, use it to keep the bank account going while you find something where they actually care about having employees and not just numbers.

Actually, NOV works like a lot of O&G companies in that they will go several years without a raise because the industry is down. They don't communicate this well at all and their raises rarely make sense when you get one although it could be good or bad, but won't make sense as everyone will get a 6% raise in your department and another department will get a 4% raise. That is each person gets the same % whether they did nothing or did all the work. The performance planning there is atrocious.

Lol thanks for letting me know. I guess I deserved the condescending tone for being so clueless. Now lets update that resume.
