Altice Selling to Time Warner

Has anyone heard of Altice selling the company soon? Maybe april-june sometime around there. Hence why they are offering the 4 week packages.

I want to see NYC go ahead with that 3rd wire fiber plan.. build it to force good pricing behavior (proactive regulation).
Spectrum won't have enough cash to buy Altice and Comcast has too much of a reputation of commoditization of data by putting in consumption caps for that to fly with NYS PSC.

Altice is offering buy outs to lighten their credit/debt ratio
They are jockeying to "buy out" another company. The current administration has shown that their all about stocks.Their merger friendly. Most of the acquisition was with implied debt.Lower the debt,up youre credit rating to buy something else...

To be clear, Time Warner CABLE does not exist, that is what I meant. Time Warner does now as WarnerMedia, but they're a media conglomerate, not a cable company. WarnerMedia is owned by AT&T.

Their contracts with the state public utilities commissions due to the original merger end in June, I think, someone please correct me if I'm wrong. This might impact current employees in some way with benefits, wages, or employment.

Otherwise Time Warner DOES NOT EXIST ANYMORE, it's now Spectrum, a combined company with Charter/Bright House/and TWC assets. Anyway, I doubt that sale like that would happen especially as that would constitute a single major cable company (excluding FIOS and the tiny RCN Cable areas) operating in NYC. The state/city public utilities commissions would probably never allow that.

On the other hand, a sale to a different company, like Cox or Comcast, or an ownership change, is probably a greater possibility. A sale to another cable company though would likely require regulator (FCC/DOJ) approval, and after seeing the hullabaloo t-mobile/sprint have gone through up until recently...I don't know if management would have the stomach for that, at least until after the election as a democrat executive/presidency would make that far more difficult.

Time Warner was bought by ATT last year. Time Warner Cable was bought by Charter many years ago, Those are 2 DIFFERENT companies that got bought up. There is no longer a Time Warner. TRY AGAIN OP WITH DUMB RUMORS!

Heard from a pretty decent source layoffs coming in June to prepare for sale. Lighten the load lighten the debt to a potential buyer. They want to buy a product not baggage.
