You'd have to be living under an lmi rock the last few years to not know the unemployment reaper would eventually come for you and your department, especially in Santa Barbara. You think a PE wants to continue wasting money on CA business taxes, all the while holding on to some prime Santa Barbara commercial real estate that's probably worth almost as much as one of LMI's individual offerings?
If I were still with LMI, and had been there more than 4 years, I'd ride it out til the end. Apparently they're still to this day (2/12) giving people up to 60 days notice and more importantly, a potent severance.
If you got your walking papers, enjoy that sh– and plan your next move. Most places don't give that much notice, and the job market is great these days, and you're gonna walk away with a nice chunk, plus unemployment.
The sun'll come out, tomorrow....
