If you are being laid off today or being notified of layoffs in your department, you should already have a meeting on your calendar.
Is this true? Does it mean I can relax since I have nothing scheduled for today?

It sounds like they're mixing up the layoff notifications now that people have caught on to how they've been done in past layoff waves. A lot of people in the 2/6 wave said were notified when they got a cold call from their manager vs a 1:1 or a 15 minute meeting put on their calendar.
In our group, a manager is told to schedule a 1:1 or touch base that morning. A friend of mine in management had told me that after the 12/4 layoff, so when I had a "conversation" scheduled when I logged in on 2/6 I knew I was doomed. It was like torture watching the clock tick down. And then he called two minutes late. I had a tiny hope it was just my review but no. He just started in on his stupid script.
My co worker found out about her lay off via email and instructions on where to return her work at home equipment. No meeting or phone call. The rest of our team moved to community and state from Optum that same day.

I worked for united appeals m&r for 10 yrs as a supervisor. When they started sending jobs to offshore. They offshore because it saves the company money. They dont have to pay them OT nor benefits. Its sad but offshore isn't knowledgeable. They only read from scripts and it leaves people here jobless.

I heard they’re going to cut corners everywhere. I guess management was told across the board to cut corners wherever they can, and my friend that works there said no one is safe. I guess Optum is next, but not sure. It’s so sad they had such great workers over here in United States. I found a United health job site For united health for all offshore, I wish I could remember the name of it because there were Pages of job postings Which is kind of sad! My friend told me today she was told in her meeting the reason for all the layoffs is because there’s not enough growth And healthcare so expensive.
UHC was hit hard today with Layoffs. Optum not as much but there will be another RIF in March. Trying to confirm the date. From my inside source Optum will be hit hard in March.

Post Pay Analytics - 1 Director, 3 Business Analysts that I know of were let go today. There are some others but they are rumored and not confirmed.
Can confirm layoffs today in OptumServe that included sales and marketing.
I've haven't seen nor heard of any activity in Optum Tech
does it seem to be hitting uhc more this time? they have a more active board but could be theyre just not used to it like optum tech

Management has been in meetings all morning, last round it was the same
The silence is probably due to people currently being in the meetings I would suspect.
Does this much silence is tell us that this may have all been a rumor

When I was laid off 10/2 I had a mandatory meeting invite with just me and our group's SVP. THe invite came from him because our VP and Director were let go too.
I had to layoff an employee last year. there was no meeting. I was instructed to cold call them. We were instructed to be done by 10AM est
I can’t speak for everyone but when I was laid off on 12/4 I had a meeting invite entitled “Mandatory Business Update” when I got to my desk at 8am est. it had been sent at 2am.
