So, PC had started laying off since January 6? And still more to come I think as I was let go yesterday and 2 more of my colleague. This is the beauty of hiring a wrong CEO who wants to go big in a COVID aftermath. Moving into a bigger office space were money is tight. No one should hire him at all. He got a golden parachute of 5 Mil (I think). Guess he could retire.
It's also true of Party City online in Pleasanton, CA. I was one of the casualties.
The company has $3B in liabilities and faces the same problem as many other retailers – declining store revenue.
48 employees in the Rockaway, NJ office alone were let go...most of which have been there for 10+ years. And more across the country in their smaller offices. Extremely sad day for these people and their families.
Wow yes heard the company is doing very poorly ...
It wasn’t just the rockaway office, it was company wide and everyone was affected by this. Many people lost their jobs today in an effort to keep party city open. It’s extremely unfortunate. It’s an easy assumption over 100 people got laid off today or more!
