It is bad in Atlanta. The president is horrible. He has no respect for store management.

60 hour weeks? Try 70. Kroger has ruined its ability to attract and retain good SM. (Just look at all the terrible reviews) So they are trying to seduce more saps with $$$ in their eyes - a shiny apple with a worm in it. A spider and it’s web. Enter at your own peril.. Do NOT give up a career elsewhere for Kroger. You will regret it - they burn through store managers like cheach and Chong though weed. Sm are the scape goats for the failed executives and DM. Just blame the Sm fire and replace.

For the raises and increased bonus POTENTIAL- metrics will probably change requiring even more work from the SM who is already working 7days a week.. The old D1 Nashville district manager and his coordinators pretty much had a very resentful attitude towards store managers, could cared less about their success.. Just run off and replace - now one of the coordinators has been put in a store that they did nothing but criticized and the terrible DM has been moved somewhere else.

TAKE HEED... From the prior post on Getting a New Job.

By the way the Store Mgr. Bonus for a $1.2M per week Store will go from 38K to 50K. Other Bonus levels will fall in line for lower volume stores.
Raises will also be elevated and a move to get everyone to the midpoint.
Get s—ed in, buy a bigger house, newer car, better neighborhood, nice vacations, etc. and you will find yourself as an indentured servant being harassed and bullied by some people with small minds. The philosophy has changed from a DM's role is to make store managers successful to replaceable.

Get a new job.... there will be less and less of a chance to get out of stores as division office staffs will be cut to a skeleton crew and believe it or not (i was in the know at one time) GO jobs will be cut in the near future... Also, GO continues to use 84.51 more and more as a training ground for GO associates. Store associates have no chance to get out of stores. Make the change now or you will be working 60 hour weeks, weekends and holidays the rest of your lives. My son is a junior in college. He interned with a manufacturer callin on Kroger. He’s set be hired by that manufacturer with a starting salary almost twice of a co-manager’s salary.

The only reason I stayed with the company until I was 55 is because I had a pension. Easier life and better money somewhere else!

How much are they raising salaries and bonuses?

PROBLEM SOLVED!
Store Manager Salary and Bonus Brackets are being raised. Now that the Pensioned Associates are gone, they can dangle the carrot and get these mellinials addicted to the cash and then bully them.

Will it work? Maybe for a little while. But has a anyone in HR ever heard of Herzburgs Two-factor theory? I would guess not because most of the people in HR have an Online Pay for degree education and the SHRM certificate.

Good luck getting these upcoming generations to run your stores, you think they want to do 50+ hour weeks lol
Also dressing like a manager and throwing trucks is k–ling me, if you want to back track on “roles and responsibilities” let us wear jeans if you just want clerks, I spend to much on clothes that get ruined.

Here is the issue,
First of all yes it’s bad.
The nepotism is at insane levels especially in my division, you have “untouchable” people at the office that literally treat you like dirt if you have questions. They don’t have time for people in the stores, we are a burden to them. There is so much talent and so many amazing people with knowledge and skills they will have to leave the company to use because there is no way to move up. I have my masters degree now, but could I apply to work at the office? Nope you have to know some one, they don’t post those jobs. The stores run on less and less help. 50 hour weeks on top of having to work every weekend and holiday!? They could not give less of a sh– about us.
