As Boeing shifted from a engineer run company to a financially run company a lot of corners were cut for cost savings. We seem to be doing the same thing.

Greed k–ls about everything in its path for sure! God I hope UP's CEO gets a big wake up call one of these days and say what the h..l did I do wrong. I hope you all the best luck and just try to keep strong as long as you can. God bless you all!
Running a switch was caused by long trains? Cool.
The comparison CAN be made because it is poor management decisions that lead to the failure of both the MAX and the looming failure of PSR.
You say the derailments are "human caused" well yea....management is technically "human" and management has dictated that trains are now longer and heavier and that those trains and the tracks they run on are not getting the level of safety inspections they used to....
Due to management decisions the wheels are literally falling off the railroad...
Since derailments subsequent to PSR have been overwhelmingly human factor derailments, the equipment has not been the issue. People operating the equipment has been the problem.
Just saying it’s not the manufacturer’s fault that the owner/operator fails to inspect, service, or maintain their own equipment. I would think that is what the FRA is for, to protect the general public, employees, etc. Difference is was it built, maintained, operated, or etc. improperly.
I would think you should compare UP to Southwest or Delta, and Boeing to EMD or GE.
Bean counters should never be in charge. There’s a reason there’s a VP of finance AND a CEO and there’s a reason the CFO is on equal footing with the other C’s, but all are under the CEO. Keep the finance guy in check or the investors will run the place at the expense of everyone else. Like at Boeing and UP and First Data and Enron and......
Boeing is not a carrier just like GE is not a carrier. The 737Max was equipment failure. Almost all of UP’s derailments have been from human failure. The two cannot be compared.
I dont think it's a moot point. Boeing makes airplanes. UP transports freight. Yeah they're different, but both are considered carriers. They both haul. They rushed their 737 Max to increase profit, but flopped because it k–led people. The UP is rushing this PSR to increase profit, but having more derailments. If you've noticed all the workforce reductions at different companies, then you'll see they all have one thing in common. It's all investor driven! The 737 Max was pushed out there for profit. Safety issues weren't addressed, but instead were just ignored by the carriers. PSR has many safety issues brought up by Congress, and yet are being ignored by the carriers. They still have a few derailment sites that haven't been cleaned up yet. Remember that oil train in Canada that ran away, derailed, and vaporized 99 percent of a town? Point is that when you cut corners, bad sh– happens. If make a mistake in an aircraft, you crash! If you make a mistake on a train, the results are the same. Except trains can level entire towns. Not trying to start an argument with anyone, but trains can have far more severe consequences when it leaves the rails.
Wish UP was half as good as Boeing.
Union Pacific doesn’t manufacture anything. It’s apples to oranges. In other words, a moot point.
Let’s see.... Boring will be sending astronauts to the international space station in the next year. Union Pacific has managers from diploma mills.
Calm down Francis. UP was never at Boeing’s level to begin with.
Boeing is hurting because of an aircraft that was proved to be unsafe. The UP is bad because of poor management.

Ummm... no they’re not.
No. Boeing is still a respected company. UP is not.
