Quick question to the team, or to anyone who might hired a lawyer…. Doesn't SungardAS have to give 60 days notice by labor law (WARN) to all employees being laid off? I am not sure why this is not discussed among people who got laid off as no one seems to hear about it.

Comrades, Sungard workers unite! We must seize the means of production from the bourgeoisie Sungard leadership team
Anyone considering suing ? This is harsh to people with family not to give any hints to people who get layoff !
WARN is a federal statute and can be a state statute as well. Use your favorite search engine to find "New Jersey Business Closing/Mass Layoff Notification Law" .
During the first giant wave in 2008-2009, allegedly SG had to trim down the number of layoffs or they would have had to pay a large amount of money to NJ. RiF'd in 2014.
Remember 2 years ago when there were layoffs on Xmas eve ...what kind of scumbag company does that?
You only need to lay-off 10 percent when you average 4 rounds a year
Sungard layoffs are typically 10% or less. WARN only applies if layoff exceeds 33%
WARN act - Mass Layoff Trigger: An employer must give notice if there is to be a mass layoff which does not result from a plant closing, but which will result in an employment loss at the employment site during any 30-day period for 500 or more employees, or for 50-499 employees if they make up at least 33% of the employer's active workforce.
Nope there is no advance notice. It goes into effect the same day being notified. It's horrible but considering the amount of stress that company caused it's a good thing.
the only notice you’ll receive is when you see you’re managers name come up on your phone at 6am
No such thing for layoffs that only applies the company is closing its doors
No such thing.
